Heading into (what I can only hope is) my last semester of grad school, I’m loving that back-to-the-classroom feeling. But since I’m all set for notebooks and pens, I thought I’d get in the spirit by:
- Stimulating the economy. Did you know students get a 15 percent discount at J.Crew? Teachers, too. Just have your ID handy. In celebration of this discovery, Lisa and I bought half the fall line. If only we were the same size…
- Helping spread democracy. The upcoming election is arguably one of the most important in our nation’s history, and I am having a great time volunteering for Senator Obama. (BTW, if you’re a fan, check out these amazing photos.) One of my assignments is voter registration — very rewarding and a great way to meet cute neighbors. Regardless of who you plan to support, please vote! - Catching up on my reading. I have two new loves: Vanity Fair, and Stuff White People Like. I like them for different, yet complimentary, reasons: the former is timely and provacative, while the latter is tongue-in-cheek awesome. After all, you are what you read!
- Making new friends, and keeping the old. If you are not on Facebook yet, you have to join today. I know, I know: one more thing to update, and one more way people can get information about you on the Internet. But it is seriously the best thing around. Just try it — if I can master it, you certainly can, too!
What have you discovered lately?
