Also very good (work the bustle, sister!); and

Would you do this?
Was anyone else crushed to see Chris eliminated on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway? He has so much sass and originality. OK, yes, he sewed human hair into his clothes. But, honestly, if I didn’t know what they were made out of, I wouldn’t have cringed. I would have liked them. I bet he is snapped up by some avant-garde label.
Rami is very talented (I, for one, think his draping is divine!), Jillian constantly surprises me (I can’t wait to buy one of her jackets some day) and Christian is, to use his favorite word, fierce. I think the final lineup at Brant Park will be amazing. I can hardly wait for next Wednesday!
Now taking bets: who do you think will win?!
No, not THAT kind of gas!
I noticed today that premium gasoline is up to $3.42 in Arlington. My new car loves him some premium, and I’m averaging about $200/month to feed him. This leaves fewer monies for more interesting things. I do try to conserve gas whenever possible, but a girl’s got to get to work.
So, I wonder: anyone else sick of the prices and, if so, how do you work around them? Please don’t suggest that I get a different car, since I just got this one
Those who know me best know I LOVE to organize/tidy. This weekend, I bought my new partner in crime: a Dyson. It’s red (special edition!), like a sassy little sport car. You might say it’s the Ferrari of vacuums. I’ve already sucked up the bathroom rug!
Also, I am packing up the Christmas tree. Haha, laugh if you want; I know it’s lame that I’m doing this so late :) But if you are familiar with my schedule, you know it’s a miracle this is happening at all. The good news is, I’ve waited so long that Christmas is right around the corner again!
What put a jingle (get it?) in your step this weekend?
What can you do in 10 seconds? I can walk across the street, change songs on my iPod or call my mom.
The Navy is much more efficient and useful: they can shoot down scary attack satellites! You’ll be glad to know that, as a result, you (probably) won’t be hit by one on or around March 6.
Very excellent job, Navy!
Learn anything today that made you glad?
This afternoon, I took Daisy on some errands. She loves riding in the car, and I really like the company.
Anyway, I’d like to thank the nice people at J.Crew, who let me bring Daisy in their store. (Don’t worry, I asked for permission. I’m a regular, so I think they knew they could trust me
Disclaimer: while I’m crazy about my dogs, I’m not one of those crazy people who takes them everywhere. I just thought she might do better with me than in the car.
And she did – she was a hit! Everyone told her she was pretty and sweet, and what girl doesn’t want to hear that? We decided to thank our friends and help stimulate our economy by purchasing half of the spring line.
And here’s my buddy, once we got back in the car:

I love the look on her face: “What do you mean there’s a sale we missed?”
Any big adventures for you this weekend?
In a very exciting development, Kent proposed to Lisa today — and she said yes! The proposal involved all of the following and more:
Obviously, all of us who know them are thrilled for their happiness.
Lisa, we’ve thought of you as family for a long time, and we’re ecstatic it will be “official” some day soon. Kent, last year was filled with so much sadness — thanks for giving us yet another reason to be happy.
Congratulations, best wishes and much love to you both!
Here are two photos I took of the happy couple last year. Rumor has it a new photo is on its way:)

Totally didn’t realize it’s already Lent. Did it start early this year?
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about what I should give up. No ideas there. Then it occured to me: why give something up when I could take something on?
Colleen and I have been going on and on about the power of positive thinking (remember that it helps me be a medical marvel?). And, my boss is very keen on positive affirmations. So, I decided to pick those up for Lent, with a concentration on one particular area.
How about you – give anything up? Take anything on?
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I know this is not everyone’s favorite holiday, but I hope it was fantastic for you nonetheless.
Here is one thing to celebrate: 60 years ago today, my grandparents got married (our family has a habit of picking holidays as birthdays and wedding days). Nine months later, my dad was born. Thirty-one years later, I was born. And 27 years after that, AccidentalLuddite.com was born.
All because of Valentine’s Day!
Hope you are all cozy and warm tonight. With sidewalks icy, I thought I’d give some tips on falling. I should mention I fell twice this evening; once going to school, and once coming home. So, take this as expert advice.
1. Try Not to Fall in the First Place
This often can’t be helped, so don’t feel bad if you fail at Step One.
2. When You Fail at Step One, Decide on Your Threshold for Embarrassment
During my first fall of the night, I gave a nearby bus stop, well, a show. I was wearing a dress and, when my right leg slipped, it somehow kicked out in front – like a Rockette! Rather than being embarrassed, I gave the bus stop a big wave. They not only waved back, they cheered!
3. Perfect a Signature Move
During my second fall, my legs and arms went akimbo. This embodied action, drama and comedy — all in one!
4. Use Your “Ass”ets to Your Advantage
I’d like to take a moment to thank my mother, who added a Polish bumbum to my gene pool. When said bumbum hit the ground during Step Three, it took the impact for the team
5. When You Have Perfected Your Technique and Adequately Tested the Pavement, Slide into Home for a Well-Earned Bubble Bath and Glass of Wine
I’m following my own advice and am going to soak my injured pride. Be careful out there!
