The Freaks I Meet

Filed under: Uncategorized — by accidentalluddite @ 10:42 pm

(I’ve thought about writing a book with the above title, but I haven’t gotten to that yet, so here’s a blog post in the meantime.)

Has everyone heard about the crazy man attacking women in N. Arlington using plastic bags?  Well, many of us are watching over our shoulders these days as we walk home from work, the store, school, etc.

I had class tonight, so I was very much on the alert coming home.  It was tiring.  Eventually, I realized that there are weirdos everywhere if you really take time to look.  But I don’t think that is just the case here.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen lately?

  1. errrrr… now I’m going to be watching over your shoulder. (That sounded creepier than I meant… I just meant now I’m worried).

I don’t have any good weirdest things stories right now. Hmmmm… I’ll get back to you. Be safe!

  2. Strange, and from what that article said, a very unsuccessful way to rob someone.
I know what you mean about being on the offensive late at night. I get out of class late on Mondays too and always make a mad speed walking dash to and from the metro.

I live in Eastern Market and this Spring we had some crazy freak who was attacking people with a screwdriver. A screwdriver! Just, you know, casually stabbing them in the neck. I was so pissed off to have something else to worry about, but the police have actually been really present in the past couple of weeks. I was excited to see two cop cars at the metro stop when I popped out last night around 10:15pm.

Anyhoo-the point is, stay alert and like the article said, scream your ass off if anyone even looks like they might mess with you.

  3. Doing laundry was pretty bad last night, due to my dual fears of The Plastic Bag Man and the bad place (my laundry room). You know, if he can carry a grocery bag, I’ll carry a leaf bag. Cover him from head to toe!

I get so tired of people who do this kind of thing, and I hate that they get exactly what they want: to scare people.

Alice, you be careful. Call me if you are coming home late and I’ll drive you!
